Remembering Sunday
(featuring Juliet Simms)
He woke up from dreaming and put on his shoes
Started making his way past 2 in the morning
He hasn't been sober for days
Leaning now into the breeze
Remembering Sunday, he falls to his knees
They had breakfast together
But two eggs don't last
Like the feeling of what he needs
Now this place seems familiar to him
She pulled on his hand with a devilish grin
She led him upstairs, she led him upstairs
Left him dying to get in
Forgive me, I'm trying to find
My calling, I'm calling at night
I don't mean to be a bother,
But have you seen this girl?
She's been running through my dreams
And it's driving me crazy, it seems
I'm going to ask her to marry me
Even though she doesn't believe in love,
He's determined to call her bluff
Who could deny these butterflies?
They're filling his gut
Waking the neighbors, unfamiliar faces
He pleads though he tries
But he's only denied
Now he's dying to get inside
Forgive me, I'm trying to find
My calling, I'm calling at night
I don't mean to be a bother,
But have you seen this girl?
She's been running through my dreams
And it's driving me crazy, it seems
I'm going to ask her to marry me
The neighbors said she moved away
Funny how it rained all day
I didn't think much of it then
But it's starting to all make sense
Oh, I can see now that all of these clouds
Are following me in my desperate endeavor
To find my whoever, wherever she may be
[Juliet Simms:]
I'm not coming back (forgive me)
I've done something so terrible
I'm terrified to speak (I'm not calling, I'm not calling)
But you'd expect that from me
I'm mixed up, I'll be blunt, now the rain is just (You're driving me crazy, I'm)
Washing you out of my hair and out of my mind
Keeping an eye on the world,
From so many thousands of feet off the ground, I'm over you now
I'm at home in the clouds, and towering over your head
[Alex Gaskarth:]
Well I guess I'll go home now...
I guess I'll go home now...
I guess I'll go home now...
I guess I'll go home
Started making his way past 2 in the morning
He hasn't been sober for days
Leaning now into the breeze

Greetings and welcome back to my blog! So my teacher assigned me to find a song, write the lyrics, search for the message/meaning. The song above is one of my all-time favourite songs. So I thought, why not?
The title is "Remembering Sunday" (as you can see lol), performed by a band called All Time Low. I guess not many of you know them, I'm not so sure. You should listen their songs, they're great! Maybe I'll tell you lil' bit about them.
All Time Low is an American pop punk band from Towson, Maryland, a suburb of Baltimore, and it was formed on 2003, when they were still highschool-ers. The band consists of lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Alex Gaskarth, lead guitarist and backing vocalist Jack Barakat, bassist and backing vocalist Zack Merrick and drummer Rian Dawson.
The band consistently tours year-long, has headlined numerous tours, and has appeared at music festivals including Warped Tour, Reading and Leeds and Soundwave.
Let's get back to the song. This song was written by Alex Gaskarth, their lead vocalist and guitarist.
Now into the meaning of this song. In an online interview, Alex said that this song and one of their other songs, "Vegas", are about the same person (a girl, to be exact), and the same experience. In "Vegas", he sings about how he would have married her if he could, and in this song, he's lost her.
To be precise, this girl is Meg Frampton from Meg and Dia. Alex met her at Warped Tour and they always hung out.
By the way, the lyrics, "I'm at home in the clouds" is about being on a plane. A person said that the girl bought a plane ticket and went to Russia, but I'm not so sure. It pretty makes sense, to be honest.
As from my point of view, I thought this song's meaning was different from what I write above (the above one is the true meaning).
I thought this song is about a boy who falls deeply in love with a girl who has a lot of problems. She walks into his life and he ends up falling for her. She then leaves without telling the boy and he starts to look for her everywhere. I personally think that the girl commits suicide from the lyrics "Keeping an eye on the world, From so many thousands of feet off the ground, I'm over you now I'm at home in the clouds, and towering over your head".
But it could also referred to as if the girl has already killed herself.
In the end, the boy realises and she's gone for good and won't come back, so he needs to learn to move on. He seems to be trying to convince himself that it's best if he goes home, since it repeats the lyrics several times.
I think the moral lesson that you can get from the song and the real meaning is that don't take too long to convince your feelings, before it's too late. Because regrets always come in the end.
