Remembering Sunday

Remembering Sunday
(featuring Juliet Simms)

He woke up from dreaming and put on his shoes
Started making his way past 2 in the morning
He hasn't been sober for days

Leaning now into the breeze
Remembering Sunday, he falls to his knees
They had breakfast together
But two eggs don't last
Like the feeling of what he needs

Now this place seems familiar to him
She pulled on his hand with a devilish grin
She led him upstairs, she led him upstairs
Left him dying to get in

Forgive me, I'm trying to find
My calling, I'm calling at night
I don't mean to be a bother,
But have you seen this girl?
She's been running through my dreams
And it's driving me crazy, it seems
I'm going to ask her to marry me

Even though she doesn't believe in love,
He's determined to call her bluff
Who could deny these butterflies?
They're filling his gut

Waking the neighbors, unfamiliar faces
He pleads though he tries
But he's only denied
Now he's dying to get inside

Forgive me, I'm trying to find
My calling, I'm calling at night
I don't mean to be a bother,
But have you seen this girl?
She's been running through my dreams
And it's driving me crazy, it seems
I'm going to ask her to marry me

The neighbors said she moved away
Funny how it rained all day
I didn't think much of it then
But it's starting to all make sense
Oh, I can see now that all of these clouds
Are following me in my desperate endeavor
To find my whoever, wherever she may be

[Juliet Simms:]
I'm not coming back (forgive me)
I've done something so terrible
I'm terrified to speak (I'm not calling, I'm not calling)
But you'd expect that from me
I'm mixed up, I'll be blunt, now the rain is just (You're driving me crazy, I'm)
Washing you out of my hair and out of my mind
Keeping an eye on the world,
From so many thousands of feet off the ground, I'm over you now
I'm at home in the clouds, and towering over your head

[Alex Gaskarth:]
Well I guess I'll go home now...
I guess I'll go home now...
I guess I'll go home now...
I guess I'll go home

Greetings and welcome back to my blog! So my teacher assigned me to find a song, write the lyrics, search for the message/meaning. The song above is one of my all-time favourite songs. So I thought, why not?

The title is "Remembering Sunday" (as you can see lol), performed by a band called All Time Low. I guess not many of you know them, I'm not so sure. You should listen their songs, they're great! Maybe I'll tell you lil' bit about them.

All Time Low is an American pop punk band from Towson, Maryland, a suburb of Baltimore, and it was formed on 2003, when they were still highschool-ers. The band consists of lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Alex Gaskarth, lead guitarist and backing vocalist Jack Barakat, bassist and backing vocalist Zack Merrick and drummer Rian Dawson.

The band consistently tours year-long, has headlined numerous tours, and has appeared at music festivals including Warped Tour, Reading and Leeds and Soundwave.

Let's get back to the song. This song was written by Alex Gaskarth, their lead vocalist and guitarist.

Now into the meaning of this song. In an online interview, Alex said that this song and one of their other songs, "Vegas", are about the same person (a girl, to be exact), and the same experience. In "Vegas", he sings about how he would have married her if he could, and in this song, he's lost her.

To be precise, this girl is Meg Frampton from Meg and Dia. Alex met her at Warped Tour and they always hung out.

By the way, the lyrics, "I'm at home in the clouds" is about being on a plane. A person said that the girl bought a plane ticket and went to Russia, but I'm not so sure. It pretty makes sense, to be honest.

As from my point of view, I thought this song's meaning was different from what I write above (the above one is the true meaning).

I thought this song is about a boy who falls deeply in love with a girl who has a lot of problems. She walks into his life and he ends up falling for her. She then leaves without telling the boy and he starts to look for her everywhere. I personally think that the girl commits suicide from the lyrics  "Keeping an eye on the world, From so many thousands of feet off the ground, I'm over you now I'm at home in the clouds, and towering over your head".

But it could also referred to as if the girl has already killed herself.

In the end, the boy realises and she's gone for good and won't come back, so he needs to learn to move on. He seems to be trying to convince himself that it's best if he goes home, since it repeats the lyrics several times.

I think the moral lesson that you can get from the song and the real meaning is that don't take too long to convince your feelings, before it's too late. Because regrets always come in the end.

By the way, you can listen the song here: Remembering Sunday - All Time Low

DEWA ATHENA

Greetings and welcome back to my blog! So in this post I’d like to tell you about dewa athena, the sport week, at my school.

As I’ve told you before, Dewa Athena is the sport week at 3 Senior High School. It held a lot of sports and traditional games, such as football, badminton, volley, tarik tambang, gobak sodor, et cetera.

It was held on 10th-12th March 2016. All tenth and eleventh graders joined dewa athena because it was counted as attandence.

Before the event began, there was a marathon first. All of the students ran around Indonesia (the street names are based on Indonesia’s cities and provinces). On the first day, my class played football, badminton, dodgeball, gobak sodor, and shuttle run. We won the girl football, badminton, dodgeball, and gobak sodor. We were kinda sad that the boys didn’t win the football, but at least they’d tried.
Dodgeball game for girls (Almi, me, Adisya, and Sheila), first day
The next day, my class played volley, tarik tambang, dodgeball for boys, and soccer for girls. When we played volley, it was so intense because we had the same score with our opponent. But in the end, we won the volley game! We won the other games too, we were very happy.
Second day, before the games began!
And now, the third day. We played gobak sodor, badminton, tarik tambang, soccer for girls, and dodgeball. We won for gobak sodor, badminton for girls, and soccer for girls. And we go to the final!!
Third day, tarik tambang for the second time
My class played twice for tarik tambang that day, but we lost. They were tired and lots of them were hurt. We’ve tried, though!

We lost too for badminton for boys and dodgeball for girls. I played for gobak sodor to replace my friends who were playing for soccer. I kind of felt bad that we lost dodgeball. But, you know, maybe it wasn’t our time.

Oh, and last Saturday, which was 2nd April, there was a volley match. I didn’t watch it because I was practicing for angklung. But we won and that is a good news. My friend, Salsa, should’ve played for volley but she was practicing with me so someone replaced her.

Dewa Athena hasn’t finished yet, though. There’s still a lot of matches haven’t been done yet and I’m not pretty sure when they will continue the games. So we’ll jut wait.

Sorry for the short story, I kind of forgot the details of Dewa Athena because I’m not that good with memories, hehe.

So that’s from me, hope you enjoyed this!

Ideal Education for a Better Life

Education is one of the most important things for a society to prosper and be safe. Education forms the character and intelligence of individuals. But how should schools proceed to educate their students in an optimum way?

There are remarkable differences in the content and the way things are taught in schools around the world, even in the so-called developed countries. But one sure thing is that no country has a perfect education system, and these days, the education level has been decreasing, while children and teenagers have become more difficult and better protected by their parents than before. As a result, school becomes less strict and less efficient.

In this essay I would like to tell you the characteristic of an ideal curriculum.

The first thing is including activities that can develop all of the important aspects. It is very important to include activities that can develop the important aspects that the students need to have, such as physical aspect, emotion, social, languages, ethics, and students academic, including the concept of multiple intelligence.

The other important point is designed activities must be based on knowledge of what is previously known and the students must be able to do it.

Also, the curriculum must be designed so that the students can directly participate actively, such as doing scientific experiments, collecting, analyzing data, and other things.

The curriculum have to make an attitude or character that appreciate any kind of professions, proud of the things that have been done, the ability to work as a team, and the ‘never give in’ attitude.

Those are some of the things that the ideal education should have. But like I said before, no school has the perfect education system. The last and the most important thing for me to have the ideal education is that it depends on the students, too. Every individual has their own opinion about how the curriculum will be an ideal education. So no matter how many curriculum you have or how many times you have changed your school’s curriculum, there will be at least one student that think certain curriculum is not the ideal education, even if the others think so.

My Last Holiday

On my first week of holiday, me and my family decided to go to Pulau Seribu. We have to enter Dufan before we arrived at the dock. When we arrived at the dock, we parked our car and waited until our names were called.

We waited there quite long and we hadn’t had breakfast so we bought some snacks from the nearest supermarket. It was quite hot so we sat at the shady area.

Our names were called around ten a.m., then we went into the boat. The boat had two floors. I was curious about how it felt to sit at the top seats, so me, my cousin, and my parents decided to sit at the top ones.

When I came to the top floor, there were many live vests and all of the passengers had to wear them.

It took around one hour to arrive Pulau Pari. In the middle of the journey, I felt kind of sleepy so I decided to take a nap. I was nearly asleep when suddenly a splash of sea water hit my face. I automatically woke up again because I was shocked. When I saw my cousin who sat next to me, she experienced the same thing like me. She was sleepy and then suddenly a splash of water hit her face too and we both laughed because of that.

We tried to sleep again, but it was no use. The splash hit us again and that time the water came into my eyes so it kind of painful. Because you know, sea water contains salt. So me and my cousin tried to cover our eyes by putting the live vests on our eyes. But still, it was still no use. Some of the water still got into my eyes but it was better than before.

Thankfully, after we put the live vests on our eyes, we got some sleep. I think I only slept for a couple of minutes.

We finally arrived at Pulau Pari. We went off the boat and the employees unloaded the  passengers belongings.

After me and my family got our belongings, our agency took us to our lodging. It was quite a nice house. We put our bags and we decided to take some rest. I decided to eat because I was still hungry. The food was nice.

After I ate I accidentally fell asleep. I woke up around four p.m. My dad invited me to go to the beach with him and the others and I said yes. My father, my brother and I used the bikes that was provided from the lodging. Sadly, my mother

It didn’t took long until we arrived at the beach. It was beautiful and it wasn’t packed with people like I thought it would.

It was really shallow in the evening so we couldn’t swim there. My brother, my older cousin and I took some selfies. And by some selfies, I mean lots of selfies.

Then we decided to drink some coconut because, why not?

We went home around seven p.m. It was an understatement to say that I was tired. I was exhausted. But I have to take a shower first.

After I took a shower, i decided to eat because the food had arrived. I still don't know why the agency always served us chicken.

At night i was kinda sad because there was absolutely no reception. I had to rely on my cousin's hotspot.

We stayed there for three days. We went scuba diving and banana boat in the next day. We went home on the third day around noon.

It was a fun experience.

City Tour: Around East Java

Hi! It's been awhile since the last time i wrote something in this blog, and here I am!

In this post I will write about the places I have visited. Hope you enjoy reading this!

It was around July, yes it was last Ramadhan, I visited East Java. I always go there when it's near Eid Mubarak, because that's where I came from. At that time me and my family visited so many beautiful places, but I don't really remember all of them (I have short term memory if you haven't noticed yet) so I'm just going to tell you the two places that still awe me.

The first one will be Tanjung Merak Beach. It was one of the beaches I visited last Ramadhan and I think it was one of the cleanest beaches I've ever visited. So if you ever go to East Java, Malang to be specific, I recommend you to visit this beach. If you like to take selfies, it's the right place to take them. But it took awhile to get there from where I stayed.

This is the picture I took when I was there.

It was sunny that day, and I didn't swim there because I didn't bring extra clothes and I was just lazy :D I went there with my family including my cousins, my aunt, my uncle, and my grandma.

Another plus point to that place is that the beach is shallow, so if you have little siblings or cousins, they can swim there safely, but of course don't let them swim by themselves, just in case something happens.

Tanjung Merak Beach is so wide, it's like an endless beach (sorry for being overreacting). When I visited the beach, it was not too crowded so that me and my cousins could go to the end of the beach.

We didn't do much there, just walking around the beach and supervising the little kids.

Finish with Tanjung Merak Beach. Now I'm going to tell you the other place that was breath-taking to me.

It was Rambut Monte!

Rambut Monte is located at Wlingi, Blitar. Unlike Tanjung Merak Beach, it didn't took long to get there because I stayed at Wlingi too. I went there with my cousins and uncle.

At the entrance there was three monkeys, but I didn't stay there long enough because I have something like trauma with monkeys, so yeah. But being the pain in the neck, my little cousin insisted that we should stay there because apparently he likes monkeys, so I just walked down the stairs (yes, there were stairs).

There was some kind of pond, I guess, with fishes in it. I still don't know what kind of fish, though. But the thing with that pond is... it had different color in the middle. It was like a mix of different waters. Here's the pic.

It was awesome. It is rare to find something like that, right?

So we took some selfies there, and walk around the place. It has a small waterfall too. When I saw the waterfall, I remembered that I've been there before. But, you know, the struggle of having short term memory. lol.

I guess that's all, I can't remember all of the details, so I hope this is enough. Oh, and here's a picture of me and my cousins at Rambut Monte!

(From left to right) My brother, me, and my cousins

sorry this is kind of... nevermind.

Wait for my next post okay? (wink wink)

My School Life

Hey y'all. So in this post I'll tell you about my school life in 3 Senior High School.

Let's begin with my class first. My class is X IPA 8, there were 40 students here, but one student moved to social class. So there are 39 students. My class is full of pretty girls and handsome boys (at first I didn't want to write this but it's the truth so yeah).

My class is... a fun and loud class. Well, in my opinion, it's a good loud. We're a cohesive class though. Even though it has only been a month.

Okay, continue to my chairmate.

Her name is Tyasti Fajri, but we usually call her Tyas. She's from 1 Margahayu Junior High School. She was born on 28th of October, 2000. She has the same birth date with my big bro's girlfriend and it's two days after my birthday! Oh and it's the Sumpah Pemuda celebration date too. She's tall, has short, black hair, beautiful, and she really likes to eat. Even though she likes to eat, she's still skinny... Almost forgot, she has a phobia. To be exact, trypophobia (I don't know the right way to write that hehe). If you don't know what trypophobia is, I'll explain the main point. It's a fear to see so many holes (I guess?) in a close distance. People say the person who has this phobia will feel itchy. I just knew that she has this phobia since... I don't know... yesterday? I'm not really sure.

There's Yulian and Namira, who sit in front of me and Tyas, and there's Anisa and Hanni, who sit behind us. We're kinda close too. Me and Namira are in the same club, which is scout. Tyas, Hanni, and Yulian are in the PMR club (to be honest I don't know what's the english word for PMR and I'm too lazy to search it on google since it's already late :D) and Anisa is in the Paskibra club.

When Tyas and I don't understand something like maths, physics, or chemical, we often ask Hanni and Anisa. They often help us too. Thank you guys!!!☻☺☻☺

When it's recess, I go to the canteen or bazaar with them. Sometimes I buy rice and sometimes I only buy snacks. Depends on my mood, because I'm a moody person.

Now I'm gonna tell you about the subjects. The subjects I like and I do not like. Start with my least favorite subjects.

So, my least favorite subjects are maths, physics, and chemical. They use so many numbers and formulas. They make me so confused and sleepy, I don't know why. When it's maths, I always ask Hanni or Anisa to explain it to me. Sometimes I feel bad for them, because it takes me quiet long to understand the formulas and stuff. So thank God that they can bear with me.

Enough with those, let's discuss my favorite subjects.

My favorite subjects are English Language. Why? Because I love English Language. I love to write with English Language and read English novels. English Language is one of the international languages, so learning it will bring so many benefits, especially if you want to travel or go to college overseas.

If you're wondering if I have a crush or not, the answer is no. I don't have a crush. I mean, I've been here for only a month, and the subjects here in 3 Senior High School are already confusing. If I have a crush, my brain will explode because of the so many complicated and confusing things. But most of my friends have a crush, though. Whether it's the senior students or the same age students.

My goal for this year is to focus on my study and get good grades. Because I don't want to do SP, hehe. It'll cut my day off from school, and I really want to use my holidays as good as I can (well I'm pretty sure that all I would do in my holiday is sleep - eat - watch TV - and pray).

That's all. Hope you enjoyed my post. Bye for now! xx

Guess Who!

Hi again!

So in this post, I will describe someone. But I won't tell who it is, so you have to guess it. Here we go...

She has long brown hair, she has tanned skin, she's skinny, she was born on 1993, she's a vegan, and she's an American actress and singer. She has appeared in many TV shows and movies and has been featured on the covers of numerous music and teen magazines.

She released her first album on 2013, which debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200. Her second album, which is released on 2014, also reached number one in the United States. It contained her two famous singles. She spent 34 continuous weeks in the top ten of the Billboard Hot 100 and had the most top 10 singles of any artist in 2014. Now she's promoting her second album on her tour, and she's coming to Indonesia! But for me, the tickets' price are expensive...

Back to the topic! Some of her honors include:
  • New Artist of the Year at the 2013 American Music Awards,
  • Music Business Association's Breakthrough Artist of the Year,
  • "Best Pop Video" at the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards,
  • "Best Song" and "Best Female" at the 2014 MTV Europe Music Awards, and
  • Two Grammy Award nominations for Best Pop Vocal Album and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.
I think that's enough for the describes. I'm gonna add her picture (but cropped, obviously) to make it easier for you. Even though you might already knew who she is.
